We have found out we do not have felt inside our roof, is this necessary?

No a lot of older slate or rosemary tiled roofs do not have under felt ,but if you start to get leaks you are best to re-tile and under-felt as this is the modern way. Regards Keith

Hi, yes as the previous person said really. It is a much better way to have the underfelt. Please feel free to email me should you want any further help. Regards, Andy A.C.C. Building Services

Primary reason is to prevent condensation from back of tiles/slates dripping into attic ,also helps if you have cracked slate/tile, your house was built pre 60's so probably due re roofing if so consider an attic conversion , check out our website.

The main reason for felt is to prevent condensation from back of tiles/slates dripping into attic and is a second layer of protection from broken tiles/slates. It might be worth re felting and there are lots of new tip breathable felts on the market which are great. if you need any help e-mail me any time.

Its not necessary but it is better, a lot of heat will escape, hence higher heating bills ... Regards
